IGNOU Diploma in Meat Technology programme details
With the assistance of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, the Government of India, this initiative was created. The Diploma in Meat Technology aims to provide the fundamental information and abilities necessary for producing meat and meat products of high quality. It also includes the development of human resources for industry. The focus is on preparing employees for self-employment and fostering understanding and proficiency in the processing of both meat and poultry. The development of competences in ethical slaughter procedures, scientific meat handling, manufacturing of high-quality meat and meat products, and testing and quality control of meat and meat products will be the main focus. Processing of poultry is also a part of it. The information provided will help with hygiene and excellent manufacturing standards in the processing industry. Young people, employees/technicians in the meat and poultry industries, small and medium-sized business owners, poultry and meat processors in the unorganised sector, staff members working in slaughterhouses and processing plants, NGO functionaries/trainers, and farmers are all included in the target group. The program's goals are to: impart information and technical expertise in; create human resource for the meat industry and related activities; train employees for self-employment; and give knowledge and skills for quality production of meat and meat products. ethical slaughter procedures using scientific methods while handling meat quality meat and meat products are produced.
