The Master of Arts Program in Sociology is designed to give advanced sociological knowledge, perspectives, and skills to a wide range of students, even those in remote or hard-to-reach places. It focuses on classic and advanced ideas and theories, research methods and perspectives, social issues of development, the state of sociology in India, education, transnational communities, migration, urbanisation, the development of the largest part of the population, and new issues in modern society. The program's goal is to address the many new issues in the field, taking into account both the needs of the students and the intellectual ability of the field. It focuses on sociological theories, ideas, and methods that are used to understand these processes; social processes and how they are linked to global, regional, and local events; and issues that arise in the development process; Socio-cultural dynamics of Diaspora and transnational communities, Religion, and related issues Education, the growth of cities, the spread of globalisation, and other social changes.
