Certificate in Sericulture (CIS)

IGNOU Certificate in Sericulture programme details

With the help of the Central Silk Board and the Government of India's Ministry of Textiles, this programme was created. In addition to being the world's largest consumer of silk, India ranks second among countries that produce it. Through its institutional network, the Central Silk Board provides the limited coverage for the educational and training components for farmers, business owners, and technicians. Through ODL, CSB and IGNOU want to teach the farmers and technicians engaged in mulberry cultivation and silkworm production scientific and entrepreneurial principles. The program's primary goals are to educate rural youth and farmers about sericulture as a profitable industry, to teach knowledge and technical skills in a variety of sericulture-related areas, and to raise awareness of the career options available in sericulture.
