PGC in Climate Change (PGCCC)

The programme was specifically designed to include the developments in the field of climate change with respect to human influences on climate, the consequences of climate change, and climate change conventions and protocols. This was done in light of the importance placed on spreading awareness about climate change science and adaptation strategies by various ministries under the Government of India. The knowledge of the effects of climate change on land and aquatic ecosystems will be enhanced for the learners. The ability to respond to climate change through mitigation and adaptation measures will be provided to the students. The programme aims to introduce students to the field of climate change and climate change conventions, to familiarise them with the effects of climate change on terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, to arm them with mitigation and adaptation strategies against climate change, to help them understand how to use tools for assessing climate change, and to introduce them to the relationship between climate change and society.
