PGC in Anuvaad evam Rupantaran (PGCAR)

Most studies and exercises in translation focus on language or written script. However, there is growing understanding of the concept that translation should be considered in terms of both medium and written languages. Translation across media, from oral to written or from oral to oral, has historically been used in India. Translation programmes that concentrate on script (which are common to literature, film, radio, and theatre) might be viewed as being of the utmost importance given the distinctiveness of the Indian cultural perspective. Anuvaad evam Rupantaran mein Snatakottar Pramanpatra (PGCAR) seeks to close a significant gap in media and cultural studies, translation, and training for writing and adapting scripts. The programme discusses how to comprehend the range of translation and adaptation in the media and gives a general overview of the numerous cross-disciplinary studies on translation and its applications in this area. The curriculum consists of three classes and a project component that will give students real experience in screenplay writing while also providing them with an understanding of the theoretical and practical sides of the topic.
