Certificate in Skill Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion (CSANKALP)

The programme for the promotion of skill acquisition and knowledge awareness-based livelihoods (SANKALP) has been introduced by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE). The outcome-driven, six-year project aims to strengthen institutions, promote market linkages, and include disadvantaged groups in society by enhancing short-term skill training on both a qualitative and quantitative level. The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has been designated as a Knowledge Partner by the MSDE. On November 22, 2021, IGNOU and MSDE signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the purpose of enhancing the ability of officials working for the State Skill Development Mission and District Skill Committees under the SANKALP Project in 400 districts across the nation. Based on an analysis of the target population's training needs, IGNOU has created a 16-credit Certificate-level Program with a six-month duration. Only employees of the State Skill Development Mission and District Skill Committees are eligible for this programme.
